You didn't like the Danish coffee...and you wanted to know if it was from Denmark. You don't think much before you blog do you? First off, Danish is the type of roast (as in, the Danes prefer their coffee roasted to this level). I assume you make a similar scene walking into other coffee shops asking them if their French Roast is from France or their Italian is from Italy (they aren't, if you were trying keep up). Most of these coffees at any coffee house will be some kind of a blend containing mostly Colombian or another variety of South or Central American coffee ROASTED a particular way.

and "Fair Trade" is another can of worms altogether...

Get your facts straight. Otherwise you'll just wind up looking like an idiot.

I've been a fan of Murchie's for years, since I was quite young. I personally frequent the Park Royal establishment, in West Vancouver. I have found the coffee to be of exceptional quality, and the people behind the counter to be very knowledgable - perhaps the victoria location was having a bad day, or is just a poor location?

Murchie's is a snobby shop, no error. They aim themselves at the elite noveau-riche types, and don't disappoint; I personally just happen to like good coffee, and know I can get it here.

For the best coffee or cappuccino's, I tend to hit up Artigiano, or the much closer (to me) Cornerstone Cafe in Coquitlam, but I'd rank Murchie's quite highly as well.

Hey thanks for your comment, everyone has their opinion and although I don't share yours I appreciate free speech.

As for their roast, why does it have to be secret?

And as for knowledgeable employees, well that just takes some training and from what I saw they didn't have much.
