Espresso is not a basis of a roast, but more of a blend of beans that have been specially blended and for use in an espresso machine.
Author’s note:
It would be wrong to think that any roast would be perfect for espresso. It would also be incorrect to believe that the term espresso roast refers to how dark beans are roasted. An espresso roast is blended with other beans and roasted to perfection to create the most complex taste in the coffee world.

An espresso machine forces hot water at nine to 10 bars (apx. 140 psi) of pressure through very finely grounded coffee beans. There are many variations of these machines ranging from one group to a five group machine.
Espresso machines can either be fully manual or full automatic with different set ups and different configurations.
Author’s note:
Automatic machines produce the best or worst results, its more of a mediocre quality on a constant basis that provides for less barista error.
